Day of depression

Today is dedicated to me

Nice day today. Perfect football weather. My plan was simple. Watch Cobham vs. Guildford in the morning and get to Woking Oxford just in time for kick off. I went in the clean purple turtle and I was on music duty. I wasn't good at it but we broke the coasting record. From the top of the hill at Pyrford we coasted into the Borough of Guildford! This sparked wild celebrations. We then used the new Cobham dartboard and I am still undefeated. Beat everyone at killer and then Jordan at three darts highest score. Unfortunatly there are one or two holes in and around the wall which the dart board is on.

Anyway the first half was my favorite Cobham game by far. I had a ball. AND WE WERE WINNING. Second half we lost but it was great fun and it was a good atmosphere. The chairman of Guildford City is a millionare and has been linked with Woking FC. So I was talking to our chairman just to make sure it was him and talking about him when he walked in. To save being red faced I dived straight in and asked him 'Are you the one who is going to buy Woking and save us from David Taylor and relegation?' He was acctually a really nice guy and simply said I have had offers but there are to many problems at the club. DAMN!

Anyway it was onto the woking game. In form Oxford at home. Nobody expected us to get anything out of the game so when we are true to form and get no points does it mean we are doomed to Conferance South football next year. Anything would have been a bonus

There was way to many Oxford supporters for the little chris lane terrace and there was over crowding. They were moved around and people spilled over. Kick off delayed for one hour becuase people wouldn't listen. Stupid. Then what infuritaed me was people were comparing it to Hillsbourgh. Now that pissed me off. Its the silly twaty Oxford supporters fault. Instead of doing the sensible thing and move to the big stand they stand around in the walk way which is packed. There was no crush and after a one hour delay people were moved around the ground. But to compare to Hillsbourgh. Well that has pissed me off.

Firstly the whole issue of Oxford fans could have been avoided to easily if it was all ticket. While nobody but got hurt and the club made a lot of extra money from the Oxford fans it was an accident waiting to happen. Giving them a quater of the KRE was asking for trouble. It was a good job there weren't any of the usual trouble makers who come to the big games otherwise there would have been trouble. The fact is that any other ground would have been just as unprepared as us.

The game was over as soon as they scored the second. We did play well and passed ball around nicely but thats not good enough. We don't have anyone who can play the killer ball and really create things. We had no period of sustained pressure and didn't get the crowd going. Turley had one save to make and thats not good enough.

Oxford weren't particualy good and didn't rip us to shreds, saying that not many teams have, but they have the killer instinct which we don't. They were very poor after they went 2-0 up but they did enough.

Graham Baker seems like a good guy and is getting more out of the players than Gilchrist did towards the end of his time. He knows what he is doing that is for sure but you get the feeling that he could get shafted by the players just like Gilchrist. Time will tell.

Well I got home in a furious mood and treated myself to left over roast dinner from yesterday. Joy. I nice cup of tea calmed me down as well.
